Kent, England
In 2012, Ruth and Charles Simpson founded Simpsons’ Wine Estate in the stunning Elham Valley of Kent, choosing the perfect land for viticulture in the North Downs. Their vision for crafting exceptional wines came to life in September 2016 with the opening of a state-of-the-art winery by Oz Clarke, strategically close to their vineyards for optimal winemaking. The Estate’s debut harvest led to a series of award-winning wines, including the Chalklands Classic Cuvee 2016 and the Roman Road Chardonnay 2018, which received top honors at international wine competitions. Simpsons’ Wine Estate has since grown to produce up to 250,000 bottles a year and earned prestigious accolades, including a spot on Walpole’s “2020 Brands of Tomorrow” list and recognition as two of the “50 Most Influential People in British Luxury” in 2022. Their commitment to quality and sustainability is reflected in their “Wines of Great Britain Sustainability Certification.” As a founding member of The Wine Garden of England, they offer a memorable wine tourism experience complete with vineyard tours, tastings, and a fun helter-skelter slide from the tasting room to the winery.
