Our Story
Nestled in the picturesque Chianti hills, Lamole has nurtured a rich tradition of winemaking for centuries, its landscape adorned with small, stony terraces known as “lamulae.” Since their first mention in 1071, the Socci family has been intertwined with Lamole’s history, cultivating vines that thrive among the rugged terrain. Legends like Lorenzo De'Medici and Grand Duke Emanuele Repetti have praised Lamole’s unique wines, echoing its reputation as a bastion of fine viticulture. Despite challenges, Fattoria di Lamole has steadfastly preserved its identity as a small village, even as its population dwindled from 900 to 70 in the mid-20th century. Since 2003, under the visionary leadership of Paolo Socci, the estate has embarked on a transformative journey. Paolo’s meticulous efforts have revitalized historic vineyards and ancient structures, revitalizing Lamole’s winemaking heritage. Through projects like the restoration of dry-stone walls and the introduction of acclaimed labels such as Le Stinche and Antico Lamole, Paolo Socci ensures that Fattoria di Lamole continues to blend tradition with modern excellence, paving the way for a future where roots are honored and aspirations take flight.
